MORPHINE COCOON LP LIMITED BLACK GATEFOLD

MORPHINE COCOON LP LIMITED BLACK GATEFOLD

RELEASE DATE 04.12.26

Morphine carved out their own ‘low rock’ sound from Mark Sandman’s two-string slide bass and deep vocals, Dana Colley’s saxophone and stripped-back drums. Cocoon gathers eight songs recorded during late-’90s sessions but shelved before Sandman’s death in 1999. Rediscovered in the band’s archives, the original tapes were transferred and assembled by producer Paul Q. Kolderie alongside Morphine estate manager Sabine Hrechdakian. Colley added fresh saxophone parts before Kolderie completed new mixes, turning the recordings into a fully realised album.
