CURTIS HARDING DEPARTURES & ARRIVALS ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN CURT LP LIMITED COLOURED

Step aboard Departures & Arrivals: The Adventures of Captain Curt, the bold new concept album from acclaimed Atlanta soul artist Curtis Harding. Blending the emotional pull of classic soul with the sweeping grandeur of a space opera, Harding takes listeners on an immersive sonic journey that’s both intimate and otherworldly.

Dreamt up during a period of deep reflection and longing, Departures & Arrivals tells the story of a pilot lost in space, mirroring Harding’s own experience of feeling adrift and far from home. The album is drenched in rich textures and cinematic atmosphere—thanks in part to lush symphonic string arrangements by Steve Hackman (Doja Cat, Andrew Bird)—and explores a wide palette of styles, from moody space-funk and baroque-pop to psychedelic soul-rock.

Self-produced at Electric Deluxe Recorders (Austin, TX), with most tracks recorded live alongside a full band, this is Harding at his most uncompromising and visionary. Following his critically acclaimed releases Face Your Fear (2017) and If Words Were Flowers (2021), this album marks a new creative high—praised for its emotional depth, genre-defying ambition, and Harding’s unmistakable voice and guitar work.
